Lincoln Town Square is a privately owned community information and news publication operated by C.A. Lord Software Group LLC. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by the Town of Lincoln, Maine, or any municipal entity.
Lincoln Town Square exists to give residents of Lincoln, Maine and the surrounding communities one place to find local news, community notices, public safety alerts, events, and a directory of local businesses, nonprofits, and services. We are an independent local media product, not a government website, and we do not speak on behalf of any town department, board, or official.
Built on Town Square™
Lincoln Town Square is the first community site built on Town Square™, a platform made by C.A. Lord Software Group LLC for local news and community information. Town Square™ is designed so that any town or region can have a place like this one: run locally, open to every point of view, and independent of local government. Lincoln is where it started.
How We Source Content
Some content on this site is original reporting or editorial work. Other content is curated, summarized, or reposted from official public sources — such as the Town of Lincoln’s own website and social media, the Lincoln Fire Department, and the Lincoln Police Department — when we believe it is useful to the community. In every case where content is curated, summarized, or derived from an outside source, we label that source directly on the item.
Community members can also submit events, notices, and directory listings directly. Every public submission is reviewed by a Lincoln Town Square editor before anything is published — nothing submitted by the public goes live automatically.
We read every submission, and we never turn one down because of the opinion it expresses. The only reasons we decline or return a submission are listed in our community standards.
How Alerts Work
Public safety and community alerts on this site are published only by the Lincoln Town Square site administrator. Alerts are never auto-published by any automated process, and there is no public submission path for alerts. If you believe an alert is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
Editorial Independence
Lincoln Town Square is supported through advertising, sponsorships, and premium directory listings. Sponsored or paid content is always clearly labeled as such. Advertising and sponsorship relationships do not influence our news coverage or our decisions about what community notices or alerts to publish.
We currently use editorial tools, including AI-assisted drafting and summarization, behind the scenes to help prepare content. All such content is reviewed by a human editor before publication, and any AI assistance is not disclosed to the public as a bylined author — a Lincoln Town Square editor is always the party responsible for what is published.
